Copyright section provides a few options to customize the copyright content as well as disable the WordPress and/or theme author’s credit links.

You’ve probably noticed the footer message that links back to WordPress.org and our website:

It’s a small message that lives in the footer section of CONJ powered website, which rightfully gives a shout to the WordPress project and our website. However, we understand that some people may not find this unappealing and may have bigger plans for their website, and this “shoutout” may not be aligned with their projects.

Customizing site copyright content
  1. Log into your WordPress website and navigate to Appearance » Customize.
  2. Navigate to Layout Options » Copyright section.
  3. Locate the copyright content text-area.
  4. Specify the text to be displayed in the copyright section at the very bottom of the site.
    • The output is run through wp_kses_post which means you can insert HTML.
  5. Specify the horizontal alignment of the copyright content in its parent block element.
  6. Optionally, toggle the WordPress credit link in the footer.
  7. Optionally, toggle the author credit link in the footer.
  8. Click the Publish button to save the changes.

Each time you alter any of the options above, the live preview refreshes so you can see how your changes will look on your site.

Yes, it is absolutely legal to remove footer credits link from your CONJ powered website.

We don’t require our paid customers to have a backlink to our site although we do appreciate it if you do.
